About Althea Tomlin

As a scientist, I’ve always love creating things from scratch and maybe that’s why I love chemistry. I’m fascinated by how simple ingredients could be combined together to make new interesting compounds that can have a profound effect on our skin, body and our minds.

I was inspired to create Brand Althea after I made my first trip to Malawi in the Eastern part of Africa. This trip Malawi changed my life and perceptions of nature Africa itself. Malawi is a beautiful land locked country with the third largest freshwater lake in Africa. I spent weeks in a remote village with local villagers.

They lived in simple mud huts like they have been doing for centuries, without electricity, running water, or simple things like soap or toothpaste that we take for granted every day. However, they were healthy, happy, friendly and warm people. I went back to nature and learnt how simple life could be and how pure nature was.

These experiences and more, were the inspiration for Brand Althea, my natural, organic botanical skincare products. It was the trip to Africa that really inspired my dream to create my own natural skin care range.

On my return to the UK, I began to embark on my passion full-time and my long term dream to launch my own natural organic skin care. Africa has been a real inspiration behind my products and the ingredients I use in them which are all natural, organic, paraben and sulphate free and not tested on animals.
